This year the club shirt will be sponsored by Pelly’s solicitors and Arrow Generics.
We do expect players to wear a white shirt and trousers when playing. If they play competitively they should have proper cricket shoes. Official club shirts, jumpers, caps, helmets and training kit are available. We recommend that players have their own abdominal protector (‘box’!) with the appropriate undergarment, especially if they are playing in competitive teams.
SWCC Kit
The Academy has a Kit Secretary, Joy Plumb who can supply club shirts, training gear, caps, helmets and other kit. You can contact her on 01799 502733. For the senior players kit can be sourced by contacting Olwyn Sparrow.
The Club now has a full range of kit available (Junior prices are in brackets).
Green training kit can also be ordered directly from Fosters of Elsenham - www.greatforschools.co.uk (password is crocus)
For the Academy, the club has kit for use by players including compulsory safety helmets. We also encourage you to give us kit that has been outgrown so that we can sell it on. Proceeds can be returned to you or donated to the club as you wish. Under 16 Matchplay players are expected to wear a club shirt.
Saffron Sports
Saffron Sports on the High Street are pleased to offer 10% discount for SWCC members.
Just mention your membership when you make a purchase. Saffron Sports will be at registration day on 9th April and will have white cricket trousers (Readers) available at £15 along with a range of other items.
Cricket Stick
We would like to recommend Cricket Stick as a local company set up by cricketers for cricketers. In the absence of any local specialist supplier (and that includes Cambridge where the sports retailers are general rather than specialist) we believe they offer good value for money and conveniently placed just off the A11 at Burwell.
We have come to an arrangement with Cricket Stick whereby we have been issued with 100 loyalty cards for distribution to our members. Cards are available from David Barrs (barrsd@aesessex.co.uk). Managers and Coaches have been issued with a card and are able to lend it out provided you return it.
The range of kit that will be available includes:
Short and long-sleeved shirts, Slipover fleeces, Long sleeved fleeces, Masuri helmet with metal and also with titanium grills, Green helmets with metal grill, Plain playing trousers.
