Academy cricket activities July 2020

Cricket activities for Academy members
We have begun putting limited-sized training sessions in place for a number of year groups, within the constraints of Government rules and ECB guidelines. These constraints include a very high ratio of coaches to children, strict rules about sharing of equipment, and social distancing for everyone involved; this means that we are not yet able to offer activities for all year groups.

However, we are now providing the following group sessions throughout July and the first two weeks of August. If your child is in one of these age groups and is not yet attending any training sessions, please contact us on saffronwaldencricketclub@gmail.com  Numbers are necessarily limited and we may need to place them on a waiting list for now.

U15 - U16 (school years 10 and 11)
 - up to 1.5 hours between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm on Mondays
U14 (school year 9) – up to one hour between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Fridays
U13 (school year 8) – up to one hour between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm on Wednesdays
U12 (school year 7) – at present only a few sessions have been individually organised with coaches. If you are the parent of a child in this group who is not yet training, but who would like to, please contact us on saffronwaldencricketclub@gmail.com and we will try to find a slot for them.
U11 (school year 6) - 1.5 hours from 4:30 to 6:00 pm on Wednesdays, although sessions may need to be shortened if numbers increase.

U10 (school year 5 and below) – we are sorry that the distancing and hygiene constraints have meant that we are not yet able to offer evening training for the children who would usually have learned softball cricket on Sunday mornings. We do hope to be able to provide something in the school holidays. We would particularly welcome offers of help with coaching and supervision from parents of this age group.

If your child is in school years 6 to 11 and not yet getting any net sessions or other training, please contact us on saffronwaldencricketclub@gmail.com and we will try to accommodate them.

Please bear with us as we try to move forward within guidelines and safety measures. We realise we may not be able to cater for everyone but we are doing all we can.

We are very grateful to all the parents who have stepped up to help – and we remain open to more offers!

The sessions described here are not subject to any fee. We are very grateful for all donations received so far, and would ask that, if your child is receiving any training through this temporary programme, you consider making a donation to help us cover costs.
