Coach at SWCC
Saffron Walden Cricket Club would like to hear from any Level 2 or above coach who is interested in coaching for the 2022 season. This would involve acting as a lead coach for an age group, supported by assistant coaches. Coaches are not required to manage teams. The club has a large junior section of up to 300 young people from 5-16 including boys, girls and disabled players. Most coaching takes place on Friday evenings or Sunday mornings.
We offer a volunteer package which includes benefits such as free membership of the club (including playing and family memberships), ECB Coaches Association membership, contribution to course costs and free use of club practice facilities. Volunteers also have access to paid opportunities including one2one coaching and first refusal if we require the coach to lead an additional age group or groups, for which they will be paid.
The professional package is available to suitably qualified coaches who take responsibility for their own financial arrangements with HMRC, etc. Level 2 coaches can invoice for a fee of £30 per hour. For more highly qualified coaches a higher fee can be negotiated. The club subscribes to Coach Assist UK and these online resources are available to all coaches.
We are also interested in hearing from coaches who might be available on Friday evenings from January through to March.
There are a number of experienced coaches in the club, so this would suit someone freshly qualified, but more experienced coaches would also be very welcome to apply. We would encourage club members to forward this to anyone they know who might be suitably qualified and interested in working with us.

The 2021 season may seem a long way off, but we are already thinking about what will need doing and who will do it!
Volunteering with the cricket club can be an interesting and rewarding way to be involved in making our club the successful and inclusive organisation it is, particularly when helping with the development of young people. We have a number of vacancies on our books:
Academy manager/administrators: these roles do not require you to be a cricket expert. They are especially suitable for parents of children in the relevant years. The manager/administrator works with coaches and parents, organising matches, recording results, liaising with other clubs and so on.
