since the beginning and he continues to serve the club in many and varied ways. Well done John and a big thank you.
Welcome to Nick Hurford as our overseas player for 2010. Nick played with Norwich CC last year but has moved to saffron Walden with his
partner for this season before he returns to Australia. Nick is also a well qualified and experienced coach who will take responsibility for the
senior coaching programme. He will also coach the u12s on a Friday evening and assist with other Academy squads. Along with our other
Level 2+ coaches he is available for one2one sessions with individual players as well. If you are interested in this please complete the

Sad News SWCC is sad to report the death of Margaret Hammond. Margaret was a respected local teacher and artist. She produced the
wonderful watercolours of the Anglo American Playing Fields as a contribution to our 150th anniversary celebration (see below). Her
husband John, was a prominent member of the Club including taking on the role of 1st. XI captain. Son, Ian, is the only player in the
history of the club to score a century for all three senior teams in the same season. Daughter Claire often acted as scorer and Margaret
made teas.
