2023 Annual Dinner – exciting news
This year’s dinner is on 25 March at the Golf Club. It’s always an enjoyable evening, but this year we are able to go back to our previous tradition of listening (and dancing) to a live band during the evening.
Saffron Walden-based band SAND will be entertaining us at the event. SAND is made up of Sally Roper and Mandy Weetch on vocals, Dave Hanson on guitar, Chris ‘Daf’ Plant on drums and Will ‘Gil’ Gregory on bass and guitar. Formed in 2018, they play a wide range of songs from various genres including rock, pop, funk, soul and disco. Utilising the vocal harmonies of former West End performer Sally and former session singer Mandy and the tight and experienced backing band, SAND perform mainly covers from a huge range of artists, including The Beatles, Pharrell Williams, Janis Joplin, The Monkees, Britney Spears, Peggy Lee, Beyonce, Christine and the Queens, George Michael, The Trammps, Jeff Buckley, The Troggs, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, Cyndi Lauper, CHIC, Dolly Parton, The Proclaimers, Dusty Springfield, and many more.
